Check in attendees at your event
Check in attendees when selling directly through BASH, and give your door team the right access.
When selling directly through BASH, check ticket holders in manually from the event’s People page. For QR-code scanning, use the BASH mobile app; the browser’s Scanner action opens app-download guidance.
Before you start
You need access to the event’s attendees and check-in controls. An Entry manager has access to event attendees, answers and check-in, without event editing or the full organiser dashboard.
These controls apply when you are selling directly through BASH. Use the provider’s own check-in system for Weeztix or Paylogic tickets. An RSVP event has no ticket QR codes to scan.
Check in manually
- Open the correct organisation and event in your dashboard.
- Select People.
- Open More options beside the list controls.
- Select Start check-in. Entry managers open in check-in mode.
- Use Search list to find the attendee.
- Check their name and ticket type before admitting them.
- Select Check-in on the person’s row. The button also shows the checked-in and total ticket counts, for example Check-in (0 / 1).
A successful update changes the button to Checked-in, for example Checked-in (1 / 1). The person’s ticket summary also shows how many tickets are checked in. For several tickets, read both counts: Checked-in (1 / 2) means one ticket still needs check-in. The main button checks in all of that person’s available tickets sold directly through BASH for the event.
Check in individual tickets
For a person with several tickets:
- Select the arrow beside the check-in button.
- Select the tickets to check in.
- Select Save. Choosing boxes alone does not save the changes.
- Check that the checked-in count matches the tickets you selected.
Finish manual check-in
- Select Done above the list.
- Check that the normal People list is shown.
Correct an accidental check-in
For a person whose tickets are all checked in:
- Select Checked-in to undo their check-in.
- Check that the count returns to the intended state before continuing.
To correct only one ticket for a person with several tickets:
- Select the arrow beside the check-in button.
- Update the individual ticket choices.
- Select Save.
- Check that the count matches the intended state.
Scan tickets with the app
Open the download guidance
- Select Scanner on People. The Check in attendees guidance explains that scanning is available only in the app.
- Select Download BASH to open the app download route.
Use the scanner on a phone
- Install the BASH app.
- Sign in with an account that has access to the correct event.
- Open the event’s scanner in the app.
- Allow camera access when requested.
- Read each scan result before admitting the attendee.
A browser window does not provide camera scanning.
If a scan is rejected:
- Find the attendee in People.
- Check that it is the correct event and ticket before using manual check-in.
Do not admit someone based only on a QR code image when the scan result indicates a problem.
Give your door team access
You need permission to manage the organisation’s team. Entry manager is an organisation role, so check the organisation and intended access before inviting door staff.
- Open Settings, then Team & access.
- Select Invite team members.
- In Search or enter email, find the person or enter their email address.
- Open the role button, initially Admin, and choose Entry manager.
- Review the people and role, then select Invite to send the invitation.
Before the event:
- Ask the invitee to accept the invitation and sign in with that account.
- Check their access on a door-team device before entry starts.
If check-in controls are missing or a ticket will not scan
- Check that you opened the correct organisation and event.
- In the normal People list, use More options → Start check-in to reveal the manual controls.
- Use the provider’s own scanner for Weeztix or Paylogic tickets.
- Inspect the attendee’s ticket and current check-in state before making a manual correction.
- If Start check-in or the event is unavailable, ask the organisation manager to check your role and event access.
If you cannot resolve the issue:
- Select Need more help? Message support below this article.
- Include the organisation, event, device, step reached and exact error.
- Select Open support message, then review and send the draft.
Keep QR codes and personal ticket links private.
